Little Stars
Eliza started going to a little Thai school 2 mornings a week. Its called little stars. http://www.littlestars-preschool.com/ (DON'T GO TO THIS SITE IF YOU ARE NOT IN A SECURE COUNTRY!) She likes it for the most part, so far. She doesn't like when I drop her off, but I am pretty sure she is over it as soon as my back side is out of view. It has a good mix of Thai and western kids. She learns in Thai half the time and then English. She has already learned so much. It makes me feel a little unfit since she had to go to a school for a few hours to learn some things, but as Micah pointed out, the teachers there don't have to cook, clean do the laundry and shopping for the kids, just teach them. She has already started doing a lot of pre-writing stuff, which I could never get her to do at home, and the other day she said, "Mom, bugs have 'tennas." (antenae) So it has been cool to see her report the things she has learned, and see the things she has made.
A bad shot of the playground with the sand, her favorite thing.
The eating area, before lunch of course, there are usually small rows of tables and chairs on the patio.
In her Thai classroom with some friends.
A back to school sign (it is back to school for most of the kids, since many have been going since they were 18 months!) The Thai school year begins in May.
First day, pink polo. Everyday has a different color in Thailand. And at her school they match there uniforms with that days color. (Sunday is red, Monday yellow, tuesday pink, wednesday green, thursday orange, friday blue, and I can NEVER remember Saturday.) But many people wear yellow on Mondays, even adults wear yellow shirts to work. The king was born on a Monday, so they wear the shirts to honor him. Everyone loves the king.
